Hi,

I am trying to crerate a VB6 project from VSS, but I get a message that DB
does not exist.
I specify the DB like this
\\severname\vss_db\srcsafe.ini
vss_db is a shared folder on the remote server.
I can log into the remote server by using Remote Desktop and then log into
VSS without any problems.
I have done this before.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ragnar,

What happens if you browse to "\\severname\vss_db\" from your remote
machine when connected to the VPN? Can you create and write to a temp
file in that shared directory?

Hi Jeff,

I get a message that the URL is valid.
I have tried browsing both with the server's address and and the IP address,
same message.
But I can ping either one and get a reply.
I remember vaguely something about a caveat when using VPN but I can't
remember exactly what is the problem.

And you were able to create a file / folder in this share (try adding
test.txt in the same directory as srcsafe.ini)

Thank you Jeff,

I just checked the files out on the server and Emailed them here.
We are not going to use SourceSafe any more, so it does not really matter
how I get hold of the files.
